SMS Terms
MyDiscBack · Last updated October 23, 2026
These terms cover text messages (SMS and MMS) sent by MyDiscBack, a lost-and-found service for disc golf. Program name: MyDiscBack Lost Disc Alerts.
What we text you
- Found-disc alerts. When a participating disc golf course, pro shop, or club finds a disc with your phone number written on it and logs it in MyDiscBack, we send that number one message saying the disc was found and where it is, usually with a photo of the disc.
- Replies to your choices. If you reply 1 (pick up), 2 (ship), 3 (surrender), or 4 (wrong number), we send a short confirmation with pickup times or next steps.
- Verification codes. If you claim a disc or check a claim on our website, we text a one-time code to confirm the phone number is yours.
- Login codes. Staff of participating organizations who turn on two-factor authentication can receive one-time login codes.
We do not send marketing or promotional messages.
How you agree to receive texts
Disc golfers write their own phone number on their discs so the disc can be returned if it's lost. When a found disc with your number is logged, we send that number a single found-disc alert. We send nothing more unless you reply. If you start a claim or check a claim on our website, or turn on text login codes for your account, you are asking us to text you for that purpose.
How often
Message frequency varies. Usually it's one alert for each disc of yours that is found, plus a confirmation for each reply you send and any codes you ask for.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. MyDiscBack does not charge for text messages.
Stopping texts and getting help
- Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) at any time to stop all texts from us. You'll get one message confirming you're unsubscribed, and then no more texts.
- Reply START to receive texts again.
- Reply HELP for help, or email support@mydiscback.org.
- If a disc isn't yours, reply 4 and we won't text your number about that disc again.
Other things to know
- Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
